Description: Pre-WORLD WAR II German MAUSER-WERKE .22 RF Bolt Action Rifle WEAVER SCOPE SMALL GAME Gun w/LEATHER SLING & WEAVER K2.5 SCOPE Here Ancestry Guns presents a C&R Mauser-Werke Bolt Action .22 Long Rifle Rimfire Rifle manufactured circa the 1920s to 1930s in Oberndorf, Germany. Mauser-Werke made a series of good quality 5.6mm rimfire patterns from the 1920's onward. These were built on three basic actions. The original lightweight pattern, which lacked a safety catch, the strengthened pattern with a rotary safety catch on the bolt body, and a version of the Deutsches Sportmodell with a flag-type safety on top of the cocking piece. This gun would have been used for small game hunting, or maybe just taking it out on a sunny afternoon for destroying some tin cans. This example has “KRIEGERBUND BARBAROSSA e.V/KAISERSLAUTERN” marked on a small plaque on the left side of the stock. Also included with this gun is a leather sling and a Weaver K2.5 scope. The overall condition is nearing fine. Much of the original finish is preserved. Strong action. Bright, shiny bore with sharp rifling. Markings are legible. The stock is solid with light handling wear. The optic has a negligible haze, and a sharp reticle. A thin crack is behind the bolt handle. This is a nice little vintage plinker that has stood the test of time and would make a great addition to your .22 collection! Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
