WORLD WAR II German WAFFENWERKE BRUNN “dot/1944” Code MAUSER K98 Rifle C&R
GERMAN OCCUPATION Third Reich Military Rifle
Description: WORLD WAR II German WAFFENWERKE BRUNN “dot/1944” Code MAUSER K98 Rifle C&R GERMAN OCCUPATION Third Reich Military Rifle Here we present a C&R German Waffenwerke Brunn “dot/1944” Code Mauser K98 Rifle manufactured in 1944 in German Occupied Bystrica. Waffenwerke Brunn AG is the name the Germans gave the small arms factory at Bystrica, Czechoslovakia, located in the former Austro-Hungarian territory of Slovakia. Prior to German occupation the factory produced VZ-24 rifles for export and the Czech military. This is a nice example of a late war, 98k rifle. The top of the receiver is marked with “dot”, which was the wartime code for Waffenwerke Brunn A.G. in BRNO, over an “eagle 63” Waffenamt, over 1944. The Eagle/Swastika firing proofs and other Third Reich markings have been ground. The factory was located in the Slovak region and made k98 rifles from 1942 to 1945. One of the more unique aspects of these rifles is that most were captured by the Russians, with very few being found in the hands of U.S. Army soldiers. This was due to the fact that there was little fighting between the U.S. forces and the Germans in Czechoslovakia. The overall condition is good. There is a bit of black paint on the front part of the barrel, all else is gray. Numbers match on the barrel, receiver, and magazine well and differ otherwise. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition: bright with good rifling; muzzle is counterbored. The laminate wood stock is solid. Import marked. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: 8mm Mauser (7.92x57) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1650 #233381 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
