WW II German BERLIN-LUEBECKER “237” Code THIRD REICH K98 Sporting Rifle
SCARCE SWASTIKA Marked MAUSER Rifle
Description: WW II German BERLIN-LUEBECKER “237” Code THIRD REICH K98 Sporting Rifle SCARCE SWASTIKA Marked MAUSER Rifle Here we present a C&R German Third Reich Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik “237” Code “1939” Date K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1939 in Berlin. Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik was a fairly early producer of the K98. It started making K98s in 1936 under the code “s/237”, moved to “237”, and late in 1940 changed to “duv”. BLM made k98s through late 1942 and was then fazed over into making the new semi-automatic K43 and G43. This example has numerous Third Reich proof markings. This is a very hard rifle to come by with the “237” code, as it was transitioned/changed at the end of the 1940 production year. In 1898 the German Army purchased a Mauser design, the Model 98, which incorporated improvements introduced in earlier models. The weapon was originally chambered for the Patrone 88 and officially entered German service as the Gew. 98 on April 5, 1898. This remains by far the most successful of the Mauser designs, helped by the onset of two world wars that demanded vast numbers of rifles. The overall condition is good. Robust action. Bright bore. The stock is in fine shape with sharp wrist checkering. Markings are legible. The serial number, “2222”, matches. “1939” dated. This example is refinished. Good leather sling. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: 8mm Mauser Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1250 #233770 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
