Maynard 2nd Model Carbine

Description:
This antique, all original 2nd Model Maynard Carbine is in excellent condition, and was probably unissued. The 20" barrel retains most of its bluing and the bore is pristine, showing very little use. The receiver shows the majority of its original color case-hardened finish.  All of the original blued receiver screws are present, with no marred slots. The wood to metal fit is excellent. The nipple has not corroded, and is clear to the chamber.  The hammer and trigger springs are strong, and the lever locks the action securely.  This carbine functions perfectly, and is in better condition with more remaining color than many you will find.   Included is a reproduction brass case, and a copy of the 1860 Catalog. The 1860 Catalog is entertaining and contains a lot interesting Maynard historical information.  This is an exceptional example at a reasonable cost.
