SECOND MODEL MAYNARD CIVIL WAR CARBINE
Description: Breech loading percussion carbine features a 20 inch round barrel with octagon shank chambered in 50 caliber. Original sights include a blade front sight with a 2 folding leaf rear sight. Left side of frame has saddle ring & bar with the Edward Maynard 4 line address. Right side of frame is marked "MANUFACTURED BY / MASS. ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS". The barrel retains about 75% dull fading original blue. The frame finish has faded to mottled gray patina. Stock has been lightly sanded and has scattered handling marks. Bore is bright and shiny. A good example of a Civil War carbine.
