UNIQUE Antique MAYNARD .410 Single Shot SHOTGUN With Neat Lever Loop & Manual Extractor!
Description: UNIQUE Antique MAYNARD .410 Single Shot SHOTGUN With Neat Lever Loop & Manual Extractor! Here we present a Maynard Breech-Loading Single Shot .410 Shotgun. The Maynard rifles and shotguns were produced from the 1860s to 1890, the carbine version appearing prominently in the hands of cavalrymen during the American Civil War. These single shot long guns would have been alternatives to repeaters such as Winchester and Whitney had to offer during this period. One of their endearing features is the ease with which one can change out the barrel assembly. This one has had some customizations performed to include a lever loop as well as a manual extractor on the right side of the barrel. The .410 shotgun, often touted as a “beginner’s gun” because of its attractiveness to young shooters, is usually lightweight with thin patterns and doesn’t deliver a big charge which could potentially scare away a young shooter. The origins of the .410 go back to the end of the nineteenth century, when farmers shot birds and small game to put on the table or keep out of the garden. No fancy wing shooting involved here, just pop them wherever they were and take ‘em home for mom to cook. The overall condition is very good plus. 75% of the period blue finish remains. The walnut stock is smooth and solid. The bore is clean and smooth. The action is excellent. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 27-5/8 inches. Caliber/Gauge: .410 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $975 #191041 SOLD Antique: Yes |
