Beautifully crafted Merkel Safari .375 H&H double rifle featuring blued barrels with express sights, a matted rib, and 2000 dated German proofs. The coin-finished boxlock action is signed by Master Engraver Ulrich Sorg and displays detailed game scene engraving with an elephant and running lion surrounded by fine scrollwork. Features include double triggers, cocking indicators, tang safety, and nicely figured checkered walnut furniture with a raised cheekpiece and Kick-Eez recoil pad. Includes the original Merkel leather case and cartridge wallet. LOP 14 7/8 inches, weight 10 lbs. 11 oz.

Condition:

Excellent with 99% original blue and coin finishes with some spots of dried grease and minor handling evidence. The stock has a deep ding on the left under the cheekpiece; otherwise, the wood is very fine with a few dings, slightly oversized butt pad, and sharp checkering.. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good.
