Exceptional Merkel double rifle built with blued steel barrels, featuring a ramped beaded front sight, three-leaf express rear sight, matted solid rib, and German proof marks dated 2007. The coin-finished sideclipped boxlock action showcases elegant scroll engraving with a rhinoceros scene on the left side and a Cape buffalo on the right, signed “D.W.” by Merkel Master Engraver Dorothee Wage. Additional features include double triggers, cocking indicators, bushed firing pins, tang mounted safety, and a single extractor system. Nicely figured walnut furniture with multi-point checkering is fitted throughout, including a pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, grip cap, sling swivel, and Merkel recoil pad. Includes the original factory box. Length of pull 14 1/2 inches, weight 10 lbs. 14 oz.

Condition:

Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, slight stress line at upper tang, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with minor storage wear.
