MAS FRENCH .308 AUTO

Description:
REDUCED MAS 1949-56, 7.5 French converted to CAL 7.62 / .308 Win. Semi-auto, one 10 shot mag.. has the Grenade Launcher incorporated into it. Metal 90%+ finish with solid wood and a mirror bore.this is an excellent rifle non-import!! i cant find any inport marks on it .this is one of the nicest ones i have seen in years!!!a blast to shoot..308 ammo readily available c&r gun part trades welcome

P.S. I FOUND THIS INFORMATION ON THE RIFLE. The French military wanted to concentrate on the development of a semi-automatic rifle for the entirety of their infantry in 1938. However, the development of this idea was hampered by the French capitulation in 1940. Thus, even though the model and design prototypes started in the 30‚‚s, the design was not adopted into French service for production until 1949, thus leading to the MAS-1949 designation.

In 1957, the improved MAS-1949 was adopted with upgrades from lessons learned from field experience. The rifles were shortened, lightened, and an integrated grenade laucher/compensator was installed, paired with an integral grenade sight which cut off the gas system to cycle grenade blanks.
