Desirable Antique Springfield US Model 1896 Krag Cavalry Carbine
Description: Serial #34686, .30-40 Krag, 22" barrel with a bright bore that has a ring about 5 1/2" back from the muzzle. This is a handsome looking carbine that retains 80-85% of the original blue finish, with silvering at the muzzle, raised portions, and along the high edges. The bolt has a mostly bright gray patina with thin freckling in spots, and a darker patina on the handle. The extractor retains most of the original bright fire blue finish, and the barrel band and rear sight have a pale gray-brown patina. The walnut handguard and stock have small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about the added varnish, and the cartouche is still visible, but only partially legible. This is a desirable Krag carbine, and is in about good condition overall. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
