Gew 88 Loewe 1891

German Gew 88/05 Loewe 1891.
Gew. 88 built in Berlin in 1891 Non matching numbers. The only numbers that match are the receiver and the barrel shroud. Took a trip to Turkey at some point. Replaced bolt with Turkish numbers/symbols. Rear sight has Turkish numerals and replaced slide. No Turk markings on the receiver. Has the /05 update to use more modern stripper clips. Very nice stock, no chips or cracks. Very good bore, I would rate it as an 8. I slugged the barrel at one point and came up with  groove diameter of .3205. You would be well advised to slug and get your own reading. Metal is in pretty good shape, minor corrision in most areas, no noticeable dings in the barrel shroud. I have fired this rifle and it functions properly.
