Serial number  plus an exceptional condition 1880 inspection puts this rifle square in the middle of the Apache Indian wars. Superb condition firing proof behind triggerguard shows off the lack of any real use of this rifle. Complete and original as issued.Fine original oil finished walnut stock highlights the soft original blueing and case colors. If you wanted just one nice rifle for your collection for the Indian wars period this rifle would be a great addition to your collection.  Chambered in the well known  .45/70 black powder cartridge . Lots of accessories were issued at the time and are still available on the collectors market to help build a great display.
