On Hold Sale Pending. This is a 2 band rifle with a 29 inch barrel and 48 inch total length. Both rear musket sight and front sight are present. The bore is good but needs cleaning. The lock is marked US Springfield with the American eagle and dated 1865. The complicated breach block functions and appears complete. These were the first civil war model 1861 Springfields converted to shoot metallic cartridges by Springfield arsenal. The stock is good with a Fsint cartouche and K (company K ?) on the left side near the lock screws. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
