World War II U.S. Model 1917 Rifle by Eddystone
Description: Serial #83334, .30-06, 26” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle has a “JA” marked, Johnson Automatics-made replacement contract barrel and retains about 97% plus of an armory applied parkerized finish that has silvered and faded along the high spots, bearing surfaces, and edges. The Eddystone bolt has some further silvering along the body and a slightly browner patina on the handle and knob. The walnut stock has few markings with the wood having scattered minor handling marks and small blemishes throughout under a very nice armory re-applied oil finish. An unmarked U.S. leather sling is installed that has moderate wear and flaking, but is still intact and fully serviceable. This is a fine example of a Model 1917 Enfield rebuilt for World War II and would make a great addition to any collection.
