The top of the chamber is stamped “Simson & Co. / Suhl", along with the date of manufacture “1916". The left side of the receiver wall is stamped “Gew. 98.". The left side of the receiver is stamped with a German Eagle proof mark and the serial number “1263C". The right side of the receiver is stamped with three German-proof marks. The Serial Numbers all match on the firearm. The top barrel shroud is completely cracked and appears to be clear through.

Includes a Simson & Co Bayonet



This collection was in a coal burning cabin and all these rifles needed cleaned. We have wiped them down and cleaned them to some degree, but they all had/have black soot caked to them from being oiled and hanging on the cabin walls. They do come clean - just takes some work. Some of the rifles still have cosmoline on them. All the rifles were originally purchased by the collector in the 70‚s
