Walther Nazi (G)K-43, Dated AC 45,Cal. 8mm, Ser. 3921 c.
Description: Inv. 7528 Walther Nazi (G)K-43, Dated AC 45,Cal. 8mm, Ser. 3921 c. A great example of an all matching example of "Hitler's Garand". This is very late war gun uses very crude unfinished casting for the receiver and bolt carrier. There are also several sheet metal stampings which in the past were machined parts. To save metal even the little bolt handle hole cover was deleted. The finish remaining is about 85+%. It appears to be a mixture of Parkerized and blued parts. there is are rust patches or scratches however. The loss appears to be mostly from age and sharp edge silvering. The dust cover usually missing is intact. The left side of the receiver and the pistol grip have the correct inspectors Waffenamt. The laminated wood stock is typically crude for this time and is roughly finished with numerous machine marks. However it still retains about 90% of the original factory lacquer. An interesting note is the front sight hood has the rivet holes used only by the Israelis to secure the front sight. It was rumored the the Israelis in their search for arms after WWII did manage to get a 500 K-43s smuggled into Israeli right after the Nazi defeat. There is nothing on the gun to indicate this was one of them. The scope is a correct and stamped ZF K-43 dow, #46342. It is quite bright and has correct and fully functional cross hair and post reticle. The mount and rings are fine quality repros. The bolt carrier, slide rails and feed ramp show very little use. The bore is super, mirror bright with razor sharp rifling, Not a noticeable sign of frost. The gun must have sat out the war since it's production. It comes with one very nice condition original magazine stamped "aye", Eagle/WaA843, K 43. It's a really handsome rig that will look lovely in a collection, is a great investment and great fun at the range........Shipped......$3795.
