PERFECT MUM, JAPANESE TYPE 44 CAL. 6.5mm, SER 9123, THIS SCARCE CAPTURED CAVALRY CARBINE IS  IN GREAT CONDITION AND THE MUM IS NOT GROUND. IT RETAINS ABOUT 85-90% OF THE ORIGINAL BLUED FINISH. THE LITTLE LOSS THERE IS, IS DUE TO THE USUAL SHARP EDGE SILVERING AND SOME DARK TONING OF THE BOLT AND BOLT HANDLE. THE BARREL BANDS AND BAYONET ASSEMBLY APPEAR TO BE PARKERIZED.  SURPRISINGLY THERE ARE NO RUST PATCHES, SCRATCHES, OR RUB MARKS. THE RECEIVER AND THE BAYONET ASSEMBLY MATCH**. THE BOLT ASSEMBLY IS NUMBERED 129 OFF BY ONLY 6 DIGITS, POSSIBLY AN ASSEMBLY ERROR. THE REAR FLIP SIGHT IS PERFECT AS IS THE PROPERLY FUNCTIONING BAYONET/STACKING SWIVEL  ASSEMBLY. ALSO, SURPRINGLY IT STILL RETAINS THE ORIGINAL TROOP TAG. THE SOFT WOOD STOCK DOES SHOW NUMEROUS DINGS AND DENTS BUT THERE ARE NO  SPLITS AND RETAINS ABOUT 90% OF THE ORIGINAL LACQUER.. THE BOLT RAILS, BOLT FACE, AND FEED RAMP SHOW MODEST USE. THE BORE IS QUITE BRIGHT WITH SHARP WELL DEFINED RIFLING. THIS SCARCE UNGROUND EXAMPLE OF THE SCARCE CAVALRY CARBINE WOULD LOOK GREAT IN ANY MILITARY GUN COLLECTION.  INVESTMENT PRICED AT......$ $1595..***
