"Japanese Kokura Arsenal Type 38 Short Rifle 6.5x50mm (L2026-08673)
Description:
"Serial no. 188682. Manufactured circa the 1930s by Kokura Arsenal, chambered in 6.5x50mm Japanese, 19"" round barrel. Bore is good with light frosting noted in the grooves, while rifling remains strong and well defined. The Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum") has been removed. The bolt is numbered “686," only four digits off the corresponding last three digits of the receiver serial number, an interesting near-matching feature. The rifle remains in overall good condition, with the stock showing expected handling impressions and service wear. This compact Type 38 configuration offers the handy proportions of the Japanese carbine pattern while retaining the exceptionally strong Arisaka action. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
