Description:
"Serial no. 4673996. Manufactured circa March 1944 by Quality Hardware & Machine Corporation, chambered in .30 Carbine, 18"" round barrel marked “UNDERWOOD/12-43/Flaming Bomb." Bore is good with light frosting noted in the grooves, while rifling remains strong and well defined. The carbine retains its desirable WWII configuration. The upper handguard has been replaced with a metal heat shield handguard. The stock has had a light coat of varnish applied and retains a faint military cartouche. Quality Hardware was one of the smaller prime contractors of the M1 Carbine program, producing fewer carbines than many of the larger manufacturers, making their rifles a favorite among U.S. military collectors. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
