IBM Carbine 9/43
Description: Sale Pending !! This IBM WWII Carbine, .30 Cal, Ser No 3721XXX was mfg abt 9/43. IBM contract w/the US Army procurement was one of thye smallest of all of the ordnance manufacturer's of WWII. They were the last manufacturer to get into yhr Carbine production and yet got up to speed in only 30 days. They mfg only abt 358K and were very inovative in perfecting new mfg techniques that reduced costs. They also were the first to develop a new rifling procedure thatgreatly increased barrel production. subsequenly they also become a supplier to other Carbine manufacturers.. They used a variety of other parts from several Wartime manufacturers.. This IBM Carbine features all the correct parts for this period. ( I use sed R. C. Larson's book "M1 Carbine 2nd edition and Craig Riesch's 7th Edition for my references.) This IBM Carbine contains these the following component parts; Receiver - T2 w/Tang & tubeless spring tunnel, Rear Sight - Flip[ w/"IN-B on L & "s" on right, Barrel - Long Skirt, "IBM Corp" (No Barrel Date), Front Sight - T2 & um, Bolt - T2 w/"AOB", Firing Pin - T1 w/"BEB", Extractor - T3 w/IB, Extractor Plunger - T3, Trig Hsg - T4 w/"BEB", Trigger T2 w/"PD-B", Sear - T2 w/"SCB" , Hammer -T3 w"/DMB", Safety - T3 w/"EPB", Mag Catch - T3 w/"PR-B", Oper Slide - T2 w"H-AOB", Oper Slide Stop - T1, Stock - Low Wd - w/Cartouche of Cross Cannons on R side just behind grip and w/a faint "LW-B" (Lumb Woodworking Co.) in the sling well, Hand Gd - T1 w/2holes and "scb" on the underside, Recoil Plate - T3 w/"PR-B", Recoil Plate Screw - Short thread, Barrel Band - T1 w/"KV-B on the clasp, Butt Plate - IBM. (The Sling, Oiler and Magazine are for presentation only and not included These items - Particulary the slings and magazines of the correct vintage are getting more difficult to locate & in acceptable condition) This IBM Carbine is of a collector grade and to me rates and "NRA Excellent".
