Saginaw Grand Rapids S'G' M1 Carbine
Description:
This M1 Carbine was made by the Saginaw Steering Gear (Grand Rapids), which is the Rarest Manufacturer among all the USGI M1 Carbines. Only 4 % of WW2 M1 Carbines were made by Saginaw Grand Rapids. It apperas to be completly original with the exception of the Type 2 rear sight As pictured. It in NOT import marked.
Almost all parts are stamped S'G' and I P (Irwin Pedersen), which would be correct. Stock and handguard both are S"G" as are all the internal parts. The barrel is marked S G and the front sight has an N, buttplate has no visible marking and has an unmarked Type 1 band which is probably how it left the factory. It has the proper P proof under the grip. It is is in very good condition with an excellent bore and deffinately has that been there look. It did however make a visit back to the arsenal after the war as shown with an AA stamp on the left grip. It function perfectly.
