Early WW2 production Springfield Armory M1 Garand. Six digit serial number, 749917 manufactured in August 1942. Springfield barrel dated July 1942 has a bright bore and excellent riflings. All marked parts are Springfield, shown in photos and detailed below. No import marks. Stock has very faint “E.McF” (Earl MacFarland) and crossed cannons on the left side. There is also what we believe is a rack number on the bottom in front of the floor plate. Overall the stock is in very good condition with no cracks and just a minimal amount of dings.
Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) are included, along with the leather sling noted below.

Part Details:
Receiver: marked “D 28291-17” on leg, heat lot C110. Excellent condition, no pitting. We believe the parkerized finish is original, with some wear at corners and contact areas.
Barrel: marked “S-A-7-42” in op rod slot, “D35448-16-B-77B” on top. Bore is bright, good crown, rifling excellent, no chrome pads at gas port. External finish is very good, some wear at gas cylinder ring.
Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): 2, TE(throat erosion): 3
Lower band: one piece arched, milled SA type with solid pin
Clip latch: round front type, unmarked
Op rod: curved side, unmodified, marked “D35382 3 SA. VG condition, some finish wear from contact.
Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
Bullet guide: WWII milled type, unnmarked
Follower: late type, marked “8”
Follower arm: no bevel
Follower rod: short fork, riveted
Bolt: marked “D28287-12SA RE5B”
Sight knobs: SA lockbar with rounded ends, elevation knob checkered, windage knurled. Exc working
condition, sharp clicks
Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked
Trigger housing: marked “D28290-5-SA” Small pad, cloverleaf hole, no pitting, some finish wear
Trigger guard: milled WWII type
Trigger: late type, no extra hole
Hammer: marked “C46008-3 SA”
Hammer spring plunger: WWII type with wings
Safety: round top, marked “C46015-6SA”
Gas cylinder: narrow sight platform, flat on top of rear ring marked “9” or “6”. GC group finish is mostly gone
Front sight: 0.64 wide, unmarked.
Gas cylinder lock: beveled front type, unmarked
Gas cylinder screw: single slot type
Stock: walnut, WWII type with trap. Circle “P” on pistol grip, “E. McF.” with crossed cannons is very faint but identifiable on left side. This difficult to photograph. Also marked “213” in large letters in front of floor plate, we assume this is a rack number. No cracks or repairs, overall nice appearance.
Front handguard: walnut, no cracks, VG condition
Rear handguard: has a few dings, and a crack behind the clip
Sling: leather, brass hooks, no markings, shows some age
