Description:
"Serial No. 172634, manufactured circa 1878–1881, chambered in 10.4×38 (.41 Swiss) with a 31.1" round barrel. Bore is good, showing frosting and light oxidation in the grooves while the rifling remains strong and well defined. Metal finish shows scattered areas of surface oxidation consistent with age and long service, with factory markings on the receiver remaining sharp and legible. The stock is in good condition with light handling impressions noted throughout. A solid and representative example of Switzerland’s iconic Vetterli service rifle. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
