Antique NORWEGIAN Kongsberg Arsenal KAMMERLADER Underhammer .69 Perc. Rifle MILITARY/INFANTRY Similar to AMERICAN HALL RIFLES
Description: Antique NORWEGIAN Kongsberg Arsenal KAMMERLADER Underhammer .69 Perc. Rifle MILITARY/INFANTRY Similar to AMERICAN HALL RIFLES Here Ancestry Guns presents an antique Norwegian Kammerlader Breech Loading Underhammer Percussion Rifle, made circa 1849 at the Kongsberg Arsenal in Kongsberg, Norway. Introduced in 1842, the Kammerlader (breech loader) was the first breech loading percussion rifle to be adopted as a primary arm by a European nation and remained in service until it was phased out upon the adoption of the Remington Rolling Block rifles in 1867. There are similarities with the American Hall rifles, but the Kammerlader has a much tighter gas seal. It has a blade front sight, sword bayonet lug on the front of the barrel, with a notch and folding ladder sights, "1849" date and "crown/K" mark of the Kongsberg Arsenal on top of the frame. The overall condition is very good. Original patina. The numbers match throughout. The action is excellent and strong. The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. The stock shows some minor stable splits along the right side and is otherwise solid. There are numerous markings in addition to the serial numbers, including proofs and unit markings. Since this is a breechloader there is no provision for a ramrod. This is a very neat, technologically advanced rifle for Norwegian armed forces in the mid-19th Century! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 34-3/4 inches. Caliber: .69 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. $3200 #259861 SOLD Antique: Yes |
