FINNISH WINTER WAR/WWII Terni M38 CARCANO Carbine w Bayonet & Sling SA 7.35
Description: FINNISH WINTER WAR/WWII Terni M38 CARCANO Carbine w Bayonet & Sling SA 7.35 ITALIAN Carbine for FINNISH Troops c1940! Here we present an Italian Modello M38 Terni Carbine with a Finnish “SA” Marking on the Receiver, made in Italy circa 1939. These are fascinating carbines, having been developed by Italy but being purchased by Finland and issued for the fighting during the Winter War against the Soviet Union. As WWII broke out, some would say it was ill-advised to jump into combat with multiple rifle cartridges in service, but the Italians did any way. The result was that Italy reverted back to their old service cartridge and these carbines put temporarily out of service. Many of these rifles were exported to Finland to push back against the Soviet Union. Finland stamped these “SA” on the receiver as this one is. After researching and shooting this rifle, Terril Hebert in his article from 2018 on ammoland says this about the M38: “I contend that the M38 Carcano is worthy to be in any military rifle collection thanks to its mix of what is both seemingly dated technology with some forward thinking twists thrown in. Old meeting new, much like Italy herself.” The overall condition is Very Good. The action is strong. The bore is in great shape. The markings are clear. The bayonet is solid and in good shape. An interesting WWII era rifle from Finland! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 21 inches. Caliber: 7.35x51mm Carcano Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. ancestryguns $650 #191137 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
