About Us: Private hobbyist/collector of mostly pre WW2 military rifles and thinning out our collection. I'm not an FFL so all FFL sales will go through my local shop unless (1) your local and then we can work out something in person OR (2) Your FFL will accept a firearm from a NON FFL. I will not cut corners and will only follow the rules so please don't ask for anything else. I'm open to reasonable offers but don't expect a response if its just silly.
Mannlicher M1890 rifle OEWG 8x50mmR antique no ffl not import
Description: Mannlicher 1890 rifle, straight-pull action. Made by Steyr / OEWG in 1892. Not to be confused with the more common Mannlicher 1888/90 rifle, which differs only by having plates with updated markings added over the original wings. Mannlicher 1890 rifles lack this modification as they were made in tandem with the adoption of the Austrian adoption of the M.90 smokeless powder ammunition. These rifles although not as popular or numerous as Mausers saw service officially and unofficially all over the world. Their biggest official users being Austria-Hungary during WW1 and Bulgaria during the Balkan Wars, WW1, and WW2. A good few were also used by the Romanians during WW1 as well as Imperial Russia, who issued captured Austrian rifles to some units in low-action sectors of the front. Imperial China also bought many at the turn of the century, and we're used through the Chinese Warlord era and WW2. There are even photos of Nazi Volksturm units armed with them in 1945! Overall condition is good. Action runs smoothly as does the en-bloc magazine clip system. Bluing is thinned. Strong bore. Long range volley sights are intact. Stock is solid with no cracks but has a period arsenal repair on the butt. The bottom of the butt has been replaced, but is very strong with no wiggle-- just like an Arisaka stock. This is NOT one of the recent Ethiopian imports that are marked all up and cracked everywhere, however it is up to the buyer to have the gun inspected by a competent gunsmith prior to shooting. Antique, no FFL required. $60 shipping in contenintal U.S. $750 via personal check, USPS money order, and cashier check. OPEN TO OFFERS SOLD Antique: Yes Rifle Caliber: 8x50mmR Mannlicher Manufacturer: OEWG/ Steyr Model: Mannlicher 1890 Barrel Length: 30 inches Condition: good Manufacture Date: 1892 |
