<<<<SOLD>>> The rifle retains its original rust blueashiny old world finish with the internal areas and bolt assembly still in the white. The rear of the barrel section is marked with the Romanof Eagle over "II" (the czar Imperial mark) over "REMINGTON / ARMORY / 1917 / No / 527207" and the receiver ring is marked with the Romanof Eagle over II. The full matching serial number is also marked on the right side of the bolt, the back of the cocking lever, magazine floor plate, and heel of the buttplate. The stock has the Romanof Eagle round cartouche dated 1917 on the right side of the buttstock and the Eagle head over the flaming ordnance bomb over "U.S." just ahead of the trigger guard. Complete with a cleaning rod and original leather sling. Excellent. The rifle retains 96% original blue finish with some minor thinning and loss at the muzzle. The American walnut wood is very fine as re-oiled with a few minor handling marks, nothing serious . Mechanically excellent.And the bore is excellent , shiny, clean and strong rifling, almost looks sun-fired. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
