Description:
Standard configuration Izhevsk SVT-40 Military rifle, the barrel with flash suppressor, unique front sight that is drift adjustable at base and vertically adjustable through the hood, tangent rear sight graded 1-15. This example made in 1940 as marked on top of receiver. Bolt assembly in-the-white. All serial numbers match to XK3279 including the bolt handle, body of the bolt, trigger guard, and stock. Buttplate with correct acceptances. Correct magazine for the SVT-40, this example with a scribed number “1564” over two arsenal crossed out numbers as carefully imaged. Complete with leather ammo pouch, field cleaning kit, and a Russian bayonet with scabbard, blade numbered 4107.
Condition:
VG+ original blueing, the body of the bolt having been cleaned and the stock lightly refinished, all original markings easily visualized. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. G-VG bayonet with most of the blue from the blade having worn away, the grip panels with numerous handling marks, staining, and a few chips as carefully imaged. Sling, green khaki cleaning kit, and heavy leather ammo pouch in unissued condition.
