World War I Italian MIDA BRESCIA Military CARCANO M91 C&R CAVALRY Carbine
Italian CAVALRY CARBINE Used During the GREAT WAR
Description: World War I Italian MIDA BRESCIA Military CARCANO M91 C&R CAVALRY Carbine Italian CAVALRY CARBINE Used During the GREAT WAR Here we present a C&R Italian MIDA Brescia Carcano Model 91 Carbine, manufactured in 1917-1918 during World War I. MIDA (Manifattura Italiana d'Armi, formerly Toschi and Castelli) was a private enterprise owning two production plants in the city of Brescia and producing Bodeo revolvers for the Italian Army, among other things. When it became clear that the Italian rifles supply in WW1 was too heavy to be sustained from Terni alone (despite its ability to produce up to 2,000 rifles per day by the end of the war) the Italian Army requested that the Rome State Arsenal (Officine Costruzioni Roma/ Regia Fabbrica d'Armi Roma) and private industry MIDA would produce Model 91 rifles too. Carcano is the frequently used name for a series of Italian bolt-action, magazine-fed, repeating military rifles and carbines. Introduced in 1891, this rifle was chambered for the rimless 6.5×52mm Carcano round. It was developed by the chief technician Salvatore Carcano at the Turin Army Arsenal in 1890 and was originally called the Modello (model) 91 or simply M91. Successively replacing the previous Vetterli-Vitali rifles and carbines, the M91 was used in both rifle (fucile) and shorter-barreled carbine (moschetto) form by most Italian troops during World War I and by Italian and some German forces during World War II. The overall condition is good. Strong action. Bright, rifled bore. This example sports a solid stock with an average amount of handling wear. Markings are legible. The cleaning rod is absent as is the front barrel band. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 18 inches. Caliber: 6.5x52mm Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1400 #240703 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
