Yugoslavian Mannlicher Rifle Model 95M
Description:
Serial #34639, 8mm Mauser, 24” barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a mostly matching, “BUDAPEST/M.95M” marked rifle that has no import mark, and retains about 60-70% of the armory blue finish applied when the rifle was converted to 8mm Mauser. The blue that remains blends smoothly into a freckled gray patina on the balance with small scattered areas of pinprick pitting throughout. The mismatched bolt has a fairly bright, pewter gray patina overall with some dark freckling on and around the handle. The matching numbered walnut stock and handguard are in good-very good condition with numerous handling marks and small blemishes scattered about the thick added oil finish. The stock was duffel-cut at some point and is now secured with a thick piece of wire that straddles the barrel band. These were a modified version of the Wartime M.95 converted by Yugoslavia following World War II. They are not commonly encountered, and this example rates very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
