Canadian Military Cooey Model 82 Training Rifle
Description: Serial #8807, .22 LR, 26 1/2? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a splendid little single-shot rifle that retains 90-92% of the original blue finish that has faded slightly along the exposed edges and projections. The bolt is finished brightly with scattered mild freckling, heaviest on the handle while the receiver has a small ?C (Broad Arrow)/67? Canadian property mark and the barrel has a small and unobtrusive import mark on the left side of the breech. The full-length walnut stock is also in excellent condition with a second small Canadian property stamp on the butt of the pistol grip and only some very minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about the original oil finish. These interesting rifles had their start as World War II contract to provide the Canadian Army and RCAF cadets with a rimfire training rifle and were subsequently produced for commercial sale as well. This is one of the military-used examples and is an excellent example of a Cooey military rifle. {Ref. ?Cooey Firearms Made In Canada 1919-1979?
