WWII Paris-Dunn Springfield 1903 Mk. 1 Training Rifle U.S.N.
Description:
This is a very nice original example of WWII production Paris-Dunn Corp 1903 Mark 1 U.S. Navy Dummy Training rifle. The wood stock is in good condition, with dents and dings and shows plenty of use with two cracks in the fore stock, one on each side, the bolt cycles correctly. The butt plate is clearly marked "DUMMY TRAINER RIFLE MARK 1 U.S.N. PARRIS-DUNN CORP. CLARINDA IOWA", right side of stock stamped 060-49. This example has had the rear sling swivel removed as well as the sights. Still, it makes a great display and historical piece. It has names marked on both sides of the butt stock, but I have not been able to read it.
