Like New Harrington & Richardson 1873 Officers Rifle 45-70 Gov 26" Barrel
Description:
The H&R 1871 Model 1873 Trapdoor Officers Rifle is a single-shot rifle chambered in .45-70 Government with a 26-inch round blued barrel. It features the classic trapdoor action design and commemorates the 1871–1971 centennial period. The rifle has a case-colored frame, lock, and barrel band, paired with a checkered wood stock in a straight-grip configuration. A factory case-colored crescent metal buttplate and cleaning rod are fitted, consistent with the original Officer’s Rifle pattern.
Markings and finishes reflect the commemorative production run, with engraved case-colored components and an adjustable flip-up peep rear sight mounted to the tang. The single-shot action and bore are described as like new, indicating minimal prior handling or use. Manufacture date is 1971, aligning with the centennial designation. The rifle is in used condition but retains its original finish and configuration consistent with the commemorative release.
Included with the rifle are the original factory box and a brass plaque identifying the commemorative edition. The serial number is 6295. All major components and accessories correspond to the 1873 Trapdoor Officers Rifle configuration produced by H&R 1871 for the centennial issue.
