US Springfield 1898 Krag Rifle Original

From a nationally known Krag collection and author. 
     we present a US Springfield,  m 1898, Krag rifle,  serial number 247691. This rifle is complete, mechanically excellent. All features are original and correct. All features function as they should. The metal finishes are original,  showing  some ware from military issued use and a mix of age patina.  The bore is bright without pitting or frosting.  The sights are a correct  1898/1902 variation Sargent's sight,  with flip up peep. The handguard and front sight blade is also correct. The stock is a 1898 Walnut stock with a correct 1902 cartouche and a faint fireing proof "P". The stock also showing  issued  use and age wear.  No cracks or gouges.   An original 3 piece cleaning rod set and nickel oiler are included in the butt trap compartment. A 125 year old US Springfield military rifle in collectable grade condition. America's first modern cartridge military rifle for your collection,  reenacting and shooting.
