       We offer an outstanding,  guaranteed original 1899 Carbine , serial number 284627, 30-40 Krag Cal. A rare "Yellow wood", Italian Walnut Variation.  Complete and correct.  All parts are correct and complete. The sights are correct. The rear sight is a CARBINE "C" marked sight. All features function as they should. Outstanding mirror bore. This Carbine retains its original blued finish. The crown is correctly bright.  Also the original blue finish on inside receiver bolt guide, that attests that this Carbine was not fired much. The "yellow wood", Italian Walnut has handsome grains,  no alterations,  cracks or gouges or sanding.  The stocks show handling wear/smoothing only from issued carry handling. The stocks match  perfectly in color and fit as they should. The original (late) 1900 cartouche has worn, but the outline remains. Some other fragments remain. The firing proof circle "P" is present and stock maker ID are present. 
Overall an extraordinary rare1899 Carbine variation your collection.  A legacy collectable and excellent shooter..
