If you love history, then you love battle rifles.  For sales is an amazing specimen of an unmolested (post armory upgrades) Gewer 88.  She was originally built in 1891 in the Imperial German Danzig armory and issued to a reserve unit.  After several years of service she was re-outfitted for the spitzer bulleted 8mm Mauser round in 1905....and then again in 1914 for a magazine upgrade to accept clip feeding.  Many of these units left bare Ottoman markings as they were issued for WWI.  This particular unit was sent back to reserve, baring 2 different reserve unit markings and no Ottoman markings as it stayed in Germany.  It is absolutely amazing how tight tie bolt still locks up today.  Of course, we're positive she'd shoot, but we strongly recommend scraping out the barrel, oil, and maybe a check by a qualified smith.  All numbers are matching except the bolt, which is common.
