Springfield Model 1842 Musket

Description:
Springfield US Model 1842 Percussion Musket 69 cal Smoothbore, Mech Exc, Wood near Exc nice wood with no cracks or chips or abuse, Has original buttplate. Has an original 42” Rd barrel with bayonet lug near muzzle and faint date . The lockplate is VG with eagle marking and US in the middle and to the rear is springfield 1847. Metal overall has a dark aged brown patina finish with some fine pitting in areas , rear of the lockplate, triggerguard and top barrel band.Has a ramrod for and 1816 musket button type. Has correct barrel bands and sling swivels.
