Serial No. 6249, made in 1898, .303 British, 20.75"". 1 of the 10,000 carbines purchased by Ireland and modified to take the bayonet for the Lee Enfield No.I. Carbine is in very good plus condition with the bore being bright and shiny. British factory markings are visible on the barrel and receiver. Socket is marked ""Crown/V.R./ENFIELD/1898/L.E.C/I"". Stock shows expected handling and usage wear with a sharp ""Birmingham"" cartouche dated 1903. Stock disk is marked ""2.'105/R.I.C./9128"". Serial numbers are matching, 6rd magazine is not numbered. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
