1942 Lee Enfield No4 Mk1/3 - Savage USA Made - WW2 Lend-Lease - Fazakerley FTR / Conversion 1951
Description:
Here we have a British Lee Enfield No4 - manufactured by Savage Arms USA in 1942 as No4 mk1* for WW2 Lend-Lease, that was retiained by the British military and reconditioned by Fazakelley as an FTR (Factory Thorough Repair) in 1951 and updated to the improved mk2 trigger - this was marked as Mk1/3 to indicate the combination of the bolt head rail slot simplification in combination to the mk2 trigger.
With this predigree we can then oberserve the early Savage serial number preserved in 4 place - receiver, bolt, magazine and underside of fore-wood. We can also observe all components being marked for Savage or Fazakerly for its FTR - the latter being the forewood and rear sight which was replaced as a Mk1 machined / micrometer sight.
Exhbiting very little use / wear since the Fazakerly FTR - an ideal candicate for a collection to represent the manufacturers, model and components used.
