Eddystone British / Enfield
Description: Sale Pending ! Reduced !! This Eddystone British was a contract WWII for Enfield. The action is excellent w/a very smooth bolt and locking action. The gun bluing is abt 95 % w/minimum wear to only the bolt area. The Rear sight is in excellent condition and all of it's components function normally. The bore is clean and has visible twist w/no corrosion. The stock is w/o cracks and no dents or dings. Ther ar also distinct marking on the rear of theleft side of the buttstock. They say w/a copper abt 1" disk attached w/a copper screw "047". adjacent to it is a mfg mark and directly under it is a 1/2" indented circle w/the letters "IE" and under it says "PATT.'14" and in larger letters is "EY". The '14 to me would indicate possibly the year of mfg as being 1914. The butt plate is normal w/a trap door. The finish ia a consistant original type w/good matching tones throughout. There is unique feature to is particular gun and that is - it has Granade Launcher on the left side just back of the front barrel band. I have seen only one other of these guns w/this feature but not in as good as condition as this one. I would rate this as an NRA very good. It comes w/a 17 inch US 1913/17 original bayonet w/sheath in excellent condition ( Average Asking price normally $ 80 - 120.00). The blade has has numerous stains and some very light pitting. it is marked w/"US", a Remington Circle, 1913/17 & 8, a Ser No. of "1480". w/Leather sheath and a Metal tip cover wa metal sheath holder it is in good condition for it's period. SOLD Manufacturer: Enfield Model: P14 Serial Number: 28086 Caliber Info: .303 Condition: Very Good |
