US 1917 Enfield, cal. 30-06
Description: US 1917 Eddystone Rifle, Collector quality. Selling my 1917 Eddystone “Safe Queen”. About 75% of WW1 GIs were issued this rifle due to the inability of Springfield and RIA arsenals to meet needs. Caliber 30-06. This rifle has the original black/blued finish, not Parkerizing. Eddystone adopted parkerization during late 1917. All rebuilds, re-arsenals, etc. were parkerized. The rifle has been completely disassembled and checked to insure all parts are correct. Most have the eagle head along with the E signifying original manufacture, not replacements. All parts were coated with a wax/oil blend before re-assembly. The finish is thinning on wear parts (bolt, etc.) and outer edges. (Bluing was not as durable as Parkerizing). Bore is extremely bright with no pitting, fogging, etc. Lands are sharp. Muzzle erosion measures at 1. Chamber throat erosion is about 1.75. Barrel date is E-8-18. Ser.# 1024014. The wood is also correct with E stamped hand guards, an E on the end of the stock, a partial eagle head in front of the trigger housing and an inspector number behind it. Wood is excellent with original finish and few, if any, dents or dings. There is a nickle plated cleaning kit inside the butt plate. Will ship by Fedex Cround to a C&R or FFL1 license holder. Shipping fee will be $50 flat. Payment by certified/bank check or postal/bank money order. Personal checks OK but will hold shipping until check clears. No credit cards.
