US Model 1917 Enfield Rifle by Eddystone Lend Lease?
Description: Serial #230683, .30-06, 26" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some dark freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome rifle that has a 12-17 dated, "E" marked barrel and mostly "E" marked parts, although the rear sight slider is marked "W" on the back. The metal has retained 92-95% of the armory-applied parkerized finish, with silvering at the muzzle, and gray fading along the raised edges and contact points. The bolt has a commensurate amount of a darker, period correct Du-Lite blue finish remaining. The markings are still fairly crisp and clear, and the "E" marked stock and handguard are in fine condition, with minor handling marks and blemishes scattered about the added varnish finish. This rifle may have been a lend lease. While the rifle has no visible British commercial proofs, nor any remnants of red or white painted striping, the right side of the butt has a large British-style ".300" caliber stamp. This is a nice example of a Model 1917 Enfield, and is in very good condition overall. FFL or C&R; SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
