1938 WWII German BERLIN-LUEBECKER “237” Code Date THIRD REICH K98 Rifle Soviet Capture X Marked, East German Service
Description: 1938 WWII German BERLIN-LUEBECKER “237” Code Date THIRD REICH K98 Rifle Soviet Capture X Marked, East German Service Here we present a C&R German Third Reich Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik “237” Code “1938” Date K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1938 in Berlin. Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik was a fairly early producer of the K98. It started making K98s in 1936 under the code “s/237”, moved to “237”, and late in 1940 changed to “duv”. BLM made k98s through late 1942 and was then fazed over into making the new semi-automatic K43 and G43. This is a very hard rifle to come by with the “237” code, as it was transitioned/changed at the end of the 1940 production year. This example has numerous Third Reich proof markings. It also has the Soviet Russian capture “X” on top of the receiver. It has been through the armory at least once. This would have been used by the East German military or police during the Cold War era when Germany was divided and the eastern half under Communist Russian control. The overall condition is very good. Armory refinished. The numbers on the barrel and receiver match from the factory; the laminate stock has the early style of butt plate with a clear WaA and has been numbered to match the barrel and receiver; the barrel bands do not match. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The laminated stock is solid throughout and has been varnished. Import marked on the underside of the barrel. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: 8x57mm Mauser (7.92) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2400 #230182 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
