It's a enlarged Mauser Mod- 1871 target rifle.(VOGELBUCHSEN )or EAGLE RIFLE, Made especially for Schutzen rifle matches in Europe from 1870s to 1930s.It was only used in the last match of the day to shoot at a 6ft. Black spread wing eagle ,each feather an main parts of the eagle were #ed,an the shooter taking the last feather off the target won the (Konig) or Kings medal an that's was the highest award of the 2-3 day match.Its a vary rare gun as from my research only about 600 total were made by all gunsmith combined.They had to weigh at least 16lbs. An no more than 35lbs.
