Japanese Type 44 1st Model Cavalry Carbine by Kokura Arsenal
Description:
Serial #1174, 6.5mm Arisaka, 19" barrel with a good bore that has dark freckling within the grooves. This is a Koishikawa-made carbine with ground Mum that has the first type short nosecap with the metal retaining 50-55% of the original blue finish, and a freckled gray-brown patina on the balance. The mismatched bolt has a fairly bright metal body with darker plum-brown freckling on the bolt handle and safety knob. The stock and handguard have numerous handling marks and blemishes in the dark brown added finish, and exhibits a slight separation of the two-piece buttstock on the left side where it meets the buttplate. This carbine looks like it was in battle and would make a nice representative example for a collection. FFL or C&R;
