"Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal Type 44 Bolt Action Carbine 6.5x50mm (L2026-07224)
Description:
"Serial no. 21064. Manufactured circa late 1910s–1920s at Koishikawa Arsenal, chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka,18 ½"" round barrel. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are non-matching, and the imperial chrysanthemum (“mum") has been removed. The stock shows expected handling impressions with some wood loss noted on the right side near the buttplate. The Type 44 was developed as a cavalry and support troop carbine variant of the Type 38 and is well known for its permanently attached folding spike bayonet. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
