"Serial No. 49885, manufactured late 1941 to early 1942 by Nagoya Arsenal, 7.7x58mm, 26" round barrel. Bore is good with visible frosting and oxidation in the grooves; rifling remains strong. The imperial chrysanthemum (mum) has been ground off. Serial numbers are matching, including the original dust cover. Retains desirable early-war features such as the folding monopod and anti-aircraft rear sight; right sight wing is slightly loose. Stock shows honest field wear and scattered combat damage, indicative of service use. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A hard-to-find, battle-worn example of an early-production Type 99 with all the right features intact.
