"WWII Japanese Type 99 Rifle by Toyo Kogyo (Series 34) – 7.7x58mm Arisaka (L2025-03679)

Description:
"Serial No. 42510, manufactured mid to late 1944 by Toyo Kogyo Arsenal, 7.7x58mm, 25½" round barrel. Serial numbers are matching, and the rifle retains transitional features characteristic of late-war production, just prior to the shift to true ""last-ditch"" manufacturing standards. Blued finish remains in very good condition; the imperial chrysanthemum (mum) has been ground off. Equipped with the mid-war pattern rear sight without anti-aircraft wings or attachment points. Stock is in very good condition with light handling marks; a wooden butt plate has been fitted—common to this production period as material shortages increased. Action is smooth and functions correctly. An excellent example of a transitional Type 99, reflecting the shift in wartime production quality near the end of WWII.
