Description:
This Arisaka Type 44 was manufactured at the Kokura arsenal, based upon the s/n. A simple muzzle measurement indicates a 6.5MM bore. The Model 44 Carbine was a development to counter the faults of the Models 30 and 38. It was built to issue to rear echelon troops. One of the man changes was the incorporation of the folding bayonet. This one is nice shootable condition, but does show the scars of military service. 6.5x55mm
