RARE JAPANESE TYPE 99 “LONG” RIFLE - BEAUTIFUL CONDITION

SOLD:
This is a spectacular example of a rare "long" version of Japanese T99 rifle, made at the Nagoya arsenal. Only about 8000 were made with a barrel length of 31 inches before a short 24 inch barrel carbine became standard.
This particular example is in exceptional original condition with over 95% original blue remaining, with majority of wear on the trigger guard, lower tang and the floor plate. No pitting! The blueing is deep and lustrous with just a hint of wear on the high edges. The mum is intact!. The gun is all matching(except the correct dust cover), including the bolt, extractor, firing pin, safety and the bayonet lug. All the screws appear to be undisturbed. The stock has original finish on it with the usual small dents and scratches present as per pictures. It is in excellent shape as well. The bore and the bolt face are chrome plated. The cleaning rod is an original 31 inch long variant.
This is the best condition "long" Type 99 that I had seen in 25 years. It would be nearly impossible to upgrade.
